Synopsis
Inspired at a young age by music from all walks from of life from Beatles to Louis Prima to Led Zeppelin, Dean started his musical career at the age of 12. He preformed with a number of groups before he was discovered by Producer Jimmy Iovine who was in search of a lead singer for a new band he was forming for his new label Interscope Records. In 1989 Dean became the lead singer for the band Neverland. After a short lived affair with Neverland, in 1993 Dean joined the Tribe of Gypsies. Still unsatisfied with his last two outfits; by 1996 Dean started a new band called Revolution Child - this band filled the void for a while but was a little ahead of its time. After numerous years of pushing the band to the limit the band finally exhausted itself. Dean went on and began producing and became a studio musician for many years. He played and sang on numerous artist recordings and soundtracks. This wouldn’t last long as Dean started to show up at different shows and began sitting in here and there. It wasn’t long before he started a new band in 2007 called Resurrect the Machine, this band brings us to the present.
Now in 2015 Dean Ortega has decided to go solo, “I just want to do what comes out naturally and nothing premeditated, if it’s eclectic so be it, if it Rocks then LET’S ROCK!”.
